Late 1880s B-B-But Black people, especially Black women, don’t “look right” in period clothing because all they ALL wore was slave rags till the 1920s. I love that she’s got kinky hair too, and it may be in a TWA (or not, can’t really see due to the angle and the hat), so there goes the “BW can wear non-slave/upper class period clothing but only with straightened hair” ish I’ve heard too much of.
