“Nigger panic.”  That’s the immediate feeling of fear, apprehension—hell—panic a non-Black person feels when they find out they may be connected to a Black person or to Black people in general in any way.  I was just looking at something on National Geographic channel about the Ark of the Covenant and what could have happened to it.  They were talking about the hypothesis that the Ark is in Ethiopia somewhere because Solomon and the Queen of Sheba’s son, Menelik, brought it there.  The narrator said that there is no historical record of the queen, and if Solomon DID fuck anybody and sire a son it would have been some Arabian princess.  In other words, “OMG! Solomon did not fuck no nigger bitches!”  Nigger panic right there onscreen.

That’s what the Monticellans are suffering from as well, constantly denying that TJ ever had sex with Sally Hemmings.  TJ could NEVER have tainted his sacred, White, Constitutional pee pee with evil, loathsome nigger pussy.  Hell, I even saw nigger panic when scientists revealed that all of humanity came out of Africa and that our “Adam and Eve” were Black.

As you can see, most cases of “Nigger panic” centers around the issues of sex with Blacks and subsequent procreation with Blacks, especially of offspring that can pass and therefore potentially infiltrate non-Blacks gene pools without them knowing.  But it can also relate to, for example, new knowledge revealing that some coveted bit of technology originated or was invented by a Black person or Black people.

Yeah, I know this probably isn’t a new term, nor is it far from being a new supposition or thought.  But I just thought we needed one for Tumblr and elsewhere on the net.
