I’m facepalming so hard at this dude right now. I really hope I’m not derailing, and if I am, please let me know. I’m going to tackle every issue of his on another day, but for now, can I just talk about the White Woman Whine going on in the comments and their attempts to rectify the fact that a white man prefers a black woman over a white one by trying to “be inclusive” of “everyone”(aka…white women)?

“I’m sure his girl doesn’t act ghetto and crazy like some of these (black girls) and I’m sure that he wouldn’t like his girl if she did act like she straight out of the hood. So basically it’s the personality that really matters.”

“Black women, just like women of all races are beautiful, enough said.”

“If he enjoys black women then that’s great. However, I think he should also do a video about why white women are good choices because everything shouldn’t be one sided. There are also great white women that face challenges as well as black women. All women are strong and beautiful.”

Now, there’s nothing wrong with saying that “all women are beautiful.” Because it’s true; ALL women ARE beautiful. But let’s be real here: they don’t mean ALL women. They mean white women. White women are so used to having their beauty affirmed and praised. They’re so used to compliments being lavished on them at every turn that when a man focuses his attention on someone else (WoC), white women lose their shit. It’s like a spotlight that they’ve always had but were never aware of, suddenly flickered out for a second, and is suddenly shining on someone else and leaving them in the dark. And this is what happens: “Make one for white women, too!” Note that she says ALL women are beautiful, but she doesn’t ask for an all inclusive video; she doesn’t ask for a video about Asian women, or Native American women, or East Asian women—she asks for a video about white women. But I mean, since all women are beautiful and we don’t want tit to be one sided, then the answer would be to request a video talking about women from ALL cultures, would it not?

Let’s be real here. If he was singing the virtues of brunettes; if he’d made a video called “Why blonde women are great choices,” if he’d made a video about a group of women who are OBVIOUSLY white, there would be no one waving the “ALL women are beautiful” banner. GO LOOK! Look at videos about the beauty of white women. How many white women do you see going, “I think you should dedicate one to Black women, too!” “I agree with you, but all women are beautiful. Don’t forget about the Asian women of the world!” “Native American women deserve to be valued too!” “ALL WOMEN ARE BEAUTIFUL!” NOT ONE.

White women cannot stand when praise directed at females isn’t being directed at them. And god forbid…. let a white man—one of their own—admire the beauty a woman who ISN’T white and laud her for her beauty? GAME OVER. (Unless of course, said WoC is Beyonce or Rihanna, or Jessica Alba—they’re acceptable) How dare the spotlight be turned away from white women once for 4 minutes out of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year? How dare those WoC steal their spotlight?

And then they wanna act like they’re not fazed, like “Oh no I totes agree, black women are gorgeous. They’re gorgeous and wonderful! ……………..But what about us white women? Let’s not forget us! But BLACK WOMEN ARE JUST FABULOUS, I WANT YOU TO KNOW HOW MUCH I AGREE.”

Chile, 3 bloops!

Many BW married to/dating WM have conceded that they’ll probably never have any WW friends because of WW’s racist jealousy issues.  Many, including me, have seen potential friendships with WW go up in smoke once they realize we can attract sincere admiration from a WM.  I’ve had WW who claimed to be down with interracial relationships balk like fuck when they find out I am involved in one.  I guess they’re only down for IRRs that include THEM.

My husband is attracted to BW.  He gets treated like an oddity around here because he outwardly seems like a regular, western MO good-ol-boy.  He’s not a hippie, greenie, crunchy, always preaching about “issues”, protesting White “librul.”  He owns guns, likes to hunt and fish and sees being handy and able to build and fix things as a sign of manliness.  He even has a drawl.  So what’s a nice ol’ White boy like him doing with a hyper-intelligent, degreed, educated, opinionated nigrah gal like me when he could, SHOULD be with a WW?

I’ve had WW hit on him right in front of my face and get that confused deer-in-headlights look when he politely and subtly rejects them.  They even get more confused when I take his arm and we walk away.  I’ve had WW follow me into a public bathroom as if they were gonna suss out my “secret.”  Maybe I had a native, voodoo potion called “Catch a Cracka” that I douse myself with every few hours.  I’ve had WW suddenly become interested in me when they found out I had a White husband like they wanted to study me to see how I, a mere Negro-looking, nappy-headed, BW, managed to ensnare one of their own.  Some assumed that I must not be like those “other” BW.  I must be of higher caliber or else why would a WM take any notice of me much less wife me up all legal-like.  Again, what WAS my secret?!

Other WM around here?  They just think he’s odd.  They look at him like, “Well, if that’s the road you wanna travel, buddy…” but they usually can move on from that.  I mean, it’s not like he’s trying to set THEM up with a BW.

WW’s shit is really a trip.  I’d laugh if they weren’t so damn conniving and vindictive with theirs.

I’ve had white women get mad that I could get a man at all. Two of the women I work with now were friendly as hell until they met the hubby & realized that I had been married, divorced & had remarried. We had the oddest tensest conversation afterward where they were trying to ferret out what magic enabled me to talk two men into wanting to marry me. When I explained that both times I wasn’t gung ho to get married? You would have thought I’d just set the room on fire. Hilariously, I don’t think they would categorize themselves as racist, in fact I’m 99.9% certain that they think race has nothing to do with their shock & awe that I’ve been married twice. 

Yep. Back when I was in high school, a (white) boy on the soccer team randomly asked me if I wanted to hang out. We hadn’t really talked in years. All of the girls were stunned… flipping their shit about it, trying to convince me that he had to be up to some shady shit to randomly ask me out when “he doesn’t even know you.” More recently, I went on a date with a white peer last semester, and lawd. Once the women realized that we weren’t just hanging out, but on a date? Jesus lawd god. One girl had the gal to try and get him to join her and her friends at the table where they were eating. “Idk why you’re on a date with some uppity little darkie mutt, but forget her ass; we’ll bring you back to your senses.” Swear to god that was going through her head.

Chile, I can’t tell you how many 80-year-old Black janitors with eighth-grade educations I’ve been introduced to because we had “so much in common” because some WW was tryin’ to keep a WM from talking to me.
