If by people not knowing this, you’re talking about WHITE people not knowing this, well, tons of White folks don’t even think we can TAN in the first place. White people are monumentally stupid about PoC’s bodies. They really think our bodies function extremely differently from theirs. They don’t know mostly because their racist arrogance and self-centeredness informs them that we are not worth knowing about unless we can serve some purpose for them.
